The Daily Record has published a comment in it’s hotline about the fears of a second liquidation at Ibrox.

The euphoria of another successful pre-season, the fourth in succession, was reaching epic proportions until publication on Monday afternoon of the latest ruling on Sports Direct’s latest legal victory over Dave King.

In June 2017 the South African based businessman was proclaimed as a hero as the so-called onerous contract with Sports Direct was cancelled with delighted fans rushing to the club Megastore to buy up the previous season’s kit at full price.

Later it was revealed that King had paid £3m to get out of that deal with the terms of the new contract, negotiated by the current Ibrox board even more favourable to Mike Ashley’s firm than the old deal!

From the Hotline

After months of denial spent celebrating two home wins over Celtic reality is slowly seeping through about King’s doomed business plan.

Throwing the kitchen sink at stopping Celtic last season has ran up an incredible bill with Sports Direct, Hummel, Close Brothers and the Memorial Wall company all watching closely to ensure that they aren’t left high and dry like the 276 creditors in 2012.
