Steven Gerrard has lost his patience with Alfredo Morelos and wants to put the Colombian into a media conference to declare where his future lies!

The rookie Ibrox boss has grown frustrated at a constant stream of transfer speculation while the club has received absolutely no offers for the former HJK Helsinki striking starlet.

In March of this year Morelos signed his third Ibrox contract, committing him to the club until 2023 telling the in-house website: “It did not take me long to agree this extension because my career has progressed quicker and better than I could have expected when I joined this great club.

I have come to realise just how special Rangers is and what it means to so many people around the world. Also, I feel a strong connection with the fans and they have made me feel special.

They have been terrific for me and always back me which makes me want to score for them and then celebrate with them. I want to score many more goals for them, Rangers, and the manager, who has helped me so much, before this season ends.”

Over the last two months stories have linked Morelos with Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Marseilles, Eintract Frankfurt and most recently AC Milan. All of the stories have originated in Scottish publications who seem to have better connections to the transfer targets of those clubs than their local media outlets.

After today’s 1-0 win over Derby County at Ibrox Gerrard finally lost patience with the Morelos transfer non-story telling The Sun:

Alfredo is a huge part of what we are trying to do here. Instead of me answering this question every single press conference, I’m going to do everything I can to put Alfredo in front of you guys.

Then you can ask him the question whether he wants to be part of this going forward. I can only say I want him to be part of it. The decision lands with Alfredo.

I’m sure now that he has been in this country two or three years, he knows ‘Yes’ and ‘No’. So can we have Alfredo up here please to stop me having to answer the question every time.

Earlier this year Stewart Robertson told a group of fans in New Zealand that the club would be looking for a similar fee to the £20m that Celtic received for Moussa Dembele.

At the end of last season Morelos was left out of Colombia’s 40 man preliminary squad for the Copa America which included 11 strikers.
