Alfredo Morelos is facing the heart-break of missing out on a dream move to AC Milan.

The Evening Times were first to run with the story late on Friday afternoon with the major Scottish publishers happy to pass the message on without the slightest of questioning.

Twenty four hours after the story first appeared none of the major Italian newspaper/publishers have picked up on the claim, not even to issue a denial.

According to the Evening Times the Italian giants watched Morelos in action against St Joseph’s and followed that up with another visit to see the 12th best striker in Colombia draw a blank against Progres Niederkorn.

It seems that in the highly unlikely event of Morelos being considered for a switch to Serie A his display against the part-timers from Luxembourg has put paid to an offer being made.

News of another non-transfer shouldn’t be too much of a blow for the 23-year-old who was apparently the focus of interest from China in January 2018.

Last summer there were Scottish based reports of interest from Turkey and France, again this interest failed to be picked up by foreign publishers.

So far this month Crystal Palace and Eintract Frankfurt have been ‘keeping tabs’ on Morelos without a single offer being made even though Alfie decided to retweet a story linking him with a move to Crystal Palace.
