Klopp trolls Gerrard over Kent cash

Jurgen Klopp has told Steven Gerrard to show him the money if he really wants to sign Ryan Kent.

The winger returned to Anfield after a stunning six goal season at Ibrox as Gerrard failed to land a single trophy, going out of the Scottish Cup even earlier than Mark Warburton and Graeme Murty achieved.

Bringing back Kent has been pushed as the final piece in the jigsaw but unless he can come up with £10m and match or improve the winger’s wages Kent won’t get the opportunity to pull on the famous Hummel blue jersey again alongside Andy Halliday and Ryan Jack.

After Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat from Napoli on Sunday Klopp was asked about Kent going back to Ibrox:

If Rangers can buy him, his time is over for going out on loan, at his age he can’t go out on loan, loan loan. At his age he has to find a place that he can settle.

Having spent a total of £3.5m on bringing in eight new players Gerrard won’t be splashing out three times that fee on a winger.

In the highly unlikely event that a £10m offer is received for Alfredo Morelos or James Tavernier that money won’t be getting spent on players and offering another Jermain Defoe salary to split the dressing room.
