Neil Lennon has warned Bayern Munich and others to forget about signing Liam Morrison.

The 16-year-old is currently with the first team squad in Switzerland and played the second half of last week’s 6-1 win over Pinkafeld.

It’s unclear whether Morrison has signed a professional contract but after interest from Germany was revealed last season Celtic are keen to get the situation resolved.

The Sun reports:

But Lennon insists Morrison – who made his debut against Pinkafeld last week – is staying put.

He said: “That’s not going to happen. There is interest from Germany but Liam’s our player and we want to develop him. We’re not accepting any, or open to any, offers for him. I think we’re in negotiations over a new contract. It’s too early to say with him but he’s doing really well. He played well last Wednesday night. We’re very pleased with his progress.”

It looks Celtic will be playing in the Reserve League next season, they were drawn against Queens Park in the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup which would be the natural next step for Morrison to take.

Last season’s Reserve League resulted in just 17 matches with Hibs, Aberdeen and St Johnstone opting out of competing this season.

Stephen Welsh, Robbie Deas and Wallace Duffy were the regulars in central defence last season but with Duffy joining St Johnstone and interest in taking the other two on loan there is every chance of Morrison becoming a regular in Tommy McIntyre’s Reserve side.
