Image for Lennon reveals his Jullien plan

Neil Lennon is planning to play Christopher Jullien from the start of Tuesday’s return leg against Nomme Kalju.

Celtic splashed out £7m to sign the defender from Toulouse but apart from a 55 minute run out against Rennes Jullien has been confined to training.

Jullien was signed in June 28 but has been working on his fitness to get upto speed with his new team-mates.

Tonight Lennon went with a back three of Kris Ajer, Nir Bitton and Jozo Simunovic with Lennon explaining the position of his record signing to BBC Scotland before kick off:

He has only had 55 minutes against Rennes. We haven’t been able to play too many friendlies so it’s down to scheduling, it’s just a case of people ticking over. If we can get a decent enough lead he can start next week.

Celtic’s defence was rarely tested by the Estonian champions as they kept a clean sheet for the first time in three outings.

Illness to Boli Bolingoli forced Lennon into an unscheduled change with Mikey Johnston replacing the former Rapid Vienna defender.

After scoring his goal Leigh Griffiths was replaced by Lewis Morgan with Ryan Christie substituted by Olivier Ntcham with 15 minutes left to play.
