Neil Lennon has still to decide on who is his first choice goalkeeper.

Scott Bain has played every competitive match of 2019 but with Craig Gordon back to full fitness the hoops boss has admitted that he has a choice to make.

The Scotsman reported:

Lennon, meanwhile, says he may have a decision to make over his first choice goalkeeper this season with Craig Gordon fully fit again to challenge Scott Bain. Scott is in pole position but I liked what I saw from Craig at the weekend,” said Lennon.

Bain has been outstanding since arriving from Dundee in a deadline day deal at the end of the January 2018 transfer window.

He was thrown in at the deep end with a debut at Ibrox two months later but let no one down as Celtic won 3-2 to kill off the Murty Revolution.

Gordon was back in the team when he returned to fitness but Bain was preferred last season in the Betfred Cup including the semi-final and final.

When Celtic returned from their winter break in Dubai Bain was in goals for the Scottish Cup tie against Airdrie then retained the gloves for the SPFL match at home to St Mirren as Celtic set off on a winning run which put them in pole position to retain the title.

Gordon made his return to match action for a Celtic XI against St Gallen in Switzerland then featured against Rennes at the weekend.

It would be a major shock if Bain was replaced by Gordon but Lennon does find himself in a fortunate position with two top keepers with Conor Hazard as number three and Ross Doohan out on loan at Ayr United for the second season running.
