Manny Perez is on the comeback trail after missing out on Celtic’s pre-season matches in Austria and Switzerland.
The defender was signed in January and sent on loan to North Carolina FC in the second tier of American football at the same time as Andrew Gutman.
While Gutman took the chance to impress at left-back during the three match tour Perez was left frustrated on the sidelines working his way back to fitness.

Perez last played for North Carolina at the end of May in a 1-0 win over Florida Soccer Soldiers with his club now sitting in fourth place in the USL Championship table.
With Celtic in the market for a new right-back the prospects of Perez getting an opportunity in that position have diminished while it’s unclear whether he has a work permit to play in Scotland.
North Carolina’s domestic season runs until October 19.
