Brendan Rodgers has taken former Celtic blogger Jack Lyons to Leicester City.

Back in February the Irishman sneaked out the side door for the land of milk and honey and attempted to leave Celtic with the bare bones of staff on the eve of a double header with Hearts and Hibs.

John Kennedy and Stevie Woods said no to their former boss and were joined in the new managerial set up by Damien Duff as Neil Lennon answered the call as caretaker manager.

With the English season three weeks away from starting The Sun has revealed that Lyons, an annalist recruited by Rodgers after he was impressed by his blog, has quit his role at Lennoxtown and is joining up with his old gaffer at the King Power Stadium.

Lyons first came to Rodgers’ attention at Celtic when he started his own online tactical blog. The former Hoops gaffer invited him to Lennoxtown for talks and then offered him a scouting job.

Lyons eventually succeeded John McGlynn as Celtic’s opposition scout after he moved to Raith Rovers last September but he has now departed Parkhead and will team up with Rodgers again in the Premier League.

Lyons will join Chris Davies, Kolo Toure, Glen Driscoll and Lee Congerton at Leicester as Rodgers attempts to re-establish the club towards the top of the EPL table.

The likely departure of Harry Maguire is hanging over the club with Manchester United and Manchester City linked with bids in the region of £70m.

Leicester are believed to be holding out for £80m making Maguire the most expensive defender in the world two years after paying Hull City £12m for the 26-year-old.
