Hapoel Be’er Sheva have thanked Hatem Abd Elhamed with the defender on his way to Celtic for a medical, Celtic have still to make any comment on the defender.
After beating FK Sarajevo to reach the second round of the Champions League qualifiers Neil Lennon admitted that he was hoping to have two new signings in for the second round matches against Nomme Kalju.
Right-back is the most obvious weakness in the Celtic squad with Elhamed having some experience in that position although he has spent most of his career as a central defender.

Hapoel Tadiran-S and Celtic signed the transfer agreement of Hatem Balmid to the Scottish group. Hatem will immediately export to medical examinations and work permits in Scotland. Upon completion of the proceedings, the official Hatem was formally passed to Celtic.
Elhamed can be registered for Wednesday’s match against Nomme but is highly unlikely to go straight into the Celtic side.
Christopher Jullien was left on the bench for both matches against FK Sarajevo with Celtic looking to get his fitness upto the same level as his new team-mates.
Elhamed made a brief appearance for Israel last month in the European Championship qualifier against Poland but opted out of playing for Be’er Sheva in their Europa League qualifier against Laci of Albania.
