Celtic fans have given an overwhelming thumbs down to leaked images of what is claimed to be their new third kit.
There is absolutely nothing to suggest that the less than striking pink and grey combo has originated from New Balance but if someone was wanting to test the market the feedback wouldn’t be encouraging.
Celtic’s kit deal with New Balance has a year left to run, if it’s not renewed it’s unlikely to be looked back on as a vintage period despite the successes over the last three seasons.
The new home kit appears to be missing a front green hoop with traditionalists screaming for a return to the type of kit that served the club so well for 100 years.
According to the advertising the change kit is a tribute to the Seville season away kit that was famously worn away to Boavista as Henrik Larsson took Celtic into the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
The third kit will be officially launched later this month at the Celtic Festival in the SECC, anything different from today’s leaked shirt is bound to be welcomed with a sense of relief.
