Celtic’s Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup tie with Queens Park will be played at the Penny Cars Stadium (New Broomfield, Airdrie) on Tuesday August 6 with a 7.45 kick off.

Work on the pitch at Hampden Park has forced the switch in venue with Queens Park playing three of their Betfred Cup ties at the Penny Cars Stadium.

Celtic Colts have lost out to Annan Athletic at the first round stage of the competition in the last two seasons and will have their work cut out against the Spiders with just one pre-season match, a 1-0 defeat away to Arbroath under their belt.

Most of the squad have spent part of pre-season training with the first team squad but with no Reserve League players like Jack Aitchison, Stephen Welsh, Robbie Deas, Grant Savoury and Daniel Church face uncertain futures.

All of those players are of interest to Scottish clubs looking for loan signings but getting the right club for a player is a difficult task with Ross Doohan to Ayr United the only player currently out on loan.
