It had the classical signs of a squirrel all over. Two full days after the match and as a storm grew over the events at Rugby Park the Daily Record came riding to the rescue with the perfect deflection tool.
Suddenly showing an interest in the ladies Glasgow derby played in Sunday (which Celtic won 3-1) the publication that introduced a Motherwell born billionaire to the Scottish public revealed:
A Rangers spokesperson said: “Our women were subjected to misogynistic and sectarian abuse, which is totally unacceptable.”
Absolute crap! I attended the game in question, may I add supporting Rangers, at no point did I feel anyone needed security. 2 sisters playing in opposing sides, best of friends off the pitch. Find a real story to report on ????

Strangely there had been no mention of these shocking incidents in the 48 hours since the defeat from Celtic Ladies at the K Park in East Kilbride.
Following the defeat Ibrox coach Gregory Vignal and star player Brogan Hay failed to pick up on the shameful incidents in interviews given to their club’s You Tube service.
After the usual few hours of bashing and blaming the Green Brigade for everything the Celtic fan group responded on twitter.

Yesterday’s report comes hot on the heels of last weeks revelations about tax matters involving Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell. The same issue effects Record columnist Barry Ferguson and Ibrox legends Walter Smith and Archie Knox who never featured in their tax story.
I spoke to one of the match officials tonight who also said that this was completely false
