Scott Bain is facing a two month lay off after playing against Cluj with a hand injury.

The keeper was at fault for goals lost against Motherwell and Cluj prompting speculation that Craig Gordon could return to the side or a move could be made for Fraser Forster.

Gordon has only played one competitive match this season, away to Nomme Kalju in the Champions League, but will now start Saturday’s Betfred Cup tie at home to Dunfermline.

The Sun reports:

NEIL LENNON has been rocked by an injury to Scott Bain that could rule him out for up to TWO months. The Celtic boss is now in the market for a goalkeeper as cover after Bain picked up a hand problem. Bain played 90 minutes of the crushing Champions League defeat against CFR Cluj this week but the injury has emerged since.

Conor Hazard is the third choice keeper at the club with Ross Doohan out on loan at Ayr United.

With Bain ruled out for two months Lennon is likely to turn to England where an experienced keeper can be brought in as back-up to Gordon.

The former Hearts keeper has a year left on his Celtic contract and now looks like getting a first team run that could lead to earning a new contract.
