Scott Brown has tipped Callum McGregor as a future Celtic captain.
The midfielder was the subject of a deadline day approach from Leicester City and can expect to have talks over a significant salary rise before the January transfer window opens.
Kieran Tierney’s transfer to Arsenal on the back of Mikael Lustig leaving in the summer has left Celtic short on experience and leadership but Brown sees his midfield partner displaying those qualities.

McGregor signed a new long term contract last season but as Tierney’s move demonstrated a lengthy contract simply secures a competitive transfer fee.
Brown and McGregor are expected to be at the heart of the Celtic midfield tomorrow night when the hoops look to complete the task of reaching the Play Off stage of the Champions League.
After drawing 1-1 away to Cluj Neil Lennon’s side are in the driving seat to face Slavia Prague next week and take a significant step towards the lucrative group stage.
