Chris Sutton kept it simple and effective as he commented on Celtic’s 2-0 win over AIK in the Europa League Play Off first leg.
The impact of last week’s defeat from Cluj has cast a huge Champions League cloud over the club but tonight there were signs of the after-life in UEFA’s second tournament.
Celtic pushed AIK onto the back foot during the first half but clear cut chances were at a premium with the well organised visitors defending in depth and happy to get physical with their opponents.
Good performance tonight from Celtic. Edouard maturing all the time. Jullien solid tonight. Crucial clean sheet but still work to do??

Three minutes into the second half James Forrest made the breakthrough with a great break down the right with his shot parried by the Swedish keeper but continuing into the net.
AIK rallied a little but their heads sank in the 73rd minute when Odsonne Edouard scored directly from a free-kick to give Celtic the perfect advantage for next week’s return leg in the Swedish capital.
