The club from Ibrox have been informed of a THIRD charge of racist actions by UEFA.

Last Friday news broke that the club had been found guilty of racist actions during the first round qualifier against St Joseph’s, on Wednesday the club issued a statement that a further charge has been delivered after the 0-0 draw with Legia Warsaw.

UPDATE: The Sun has deleted this story, just two charges, so far.

Three thousand fans were excluded from last night’s home leg with Legia with a more severe sanction expected this afternoon for last week’s charge.

Steven Gerrard’s side played Progres Niederkorn and Midtjylland in rounds two and three with news emerging that a new racism charge has been made following the away match in Denmark.

Breaking the news The Sun reports:

Rangers have tried to stave off heavy sanctions by insisting they won’t take tickets for their first away game in the Europa League group phase. However, they have been rocked by another investigation that there was sectarian abuse in Denmark on August 8 when Rangers beat Midtjylland 4-2.

Managing Director Stewart Robertson made the revelation to a group of supporters ahead of last night’s glory night against Legia. He had called in a number of fans who are prominent on social media to try to help the club drive out sectarian songs.

This latest investigation could lead to a complete stadium closure which would be a financial disaster. Rangers can pull in over £1million from ticket sales, corporate sales and other revenues from a big European night.

The story came from Lindsay Herron who was Head of Media at the old club before using the TUPE legislation to transfer over to the new club in 2012.

Reaching the group stage of the Europa League is worth around £3m but requires pay-outs on bonuses with costly travel for three group matches virtually wiping out the UEFA pay out.
