A member of the Motherwell staff was involved in a heated post match exchange with Scott Sinclair at Fir Park today.
Speaking live on Radio Clyde Gordon Dalziel was amazed at what he was witnessing 30 minutes after the final whistle had blown on Celtic’s 5-2 win.
“I thought for one minute. Both of them were going to come to blows, a steward separated them…in fairness to Alan Burrows he appears to have calmed Scott Sinclair down, but it was really intense”.

Sinclair has long been the target of abuse from Motherwell fans with Celtic’s 2017 Betfred Cup Final win appearing to upset some natives in North Lanarkshire.
Ever since then he has been the target for verbal abuse by Motherwell fans, three days after the Cup Final he scored a late equaliser from the penalty spot as Celtic maintained their unbeaten record.
Later on Radio Clyde host Gordon Duncan, a Motherwell fan, claimed that everything had been resolved behind the scenes, claiming that it had all been a big misunderstanding. The misunderstanding was described live on air by Dalziel with Sinclair a 79th minute substitute for Celtic.
