The Daily Record has claimed that Celtic are still keen on signing Rico Henry from Brentford.

Kieran Tierney’s transfer to Arsenal has turned the focus onto the left-back position with Boli Bolingoli having a difficult time against Cluj on Wednesday night.

Left-back is one of a number of positions that Lennon is looking to strengthen, with Brentford signing Dominic Thompson in midweek from Arsenal to fill that position it appears that the cards could be lined up for Henry to join Celtic.

Discussing Neil Lennon’s transfer targets The Record reports:

The Celtic boss is targeting five players – with Brentford defender Rico Henry still on the wish-list after being watched by recruitment chief Nicky Hammond last week. The Bees are set to offer the £7m rated England under 20s ace a new contract to fend off the interest.

With two years left on Henry’s contract Brentford are clearly in control of the situation with a fee in the region of £7m being discussed for the defender.

Celtic have virtually retreated from paying fees for English based players due to the over-heated state of the transfer market but with a record fee received from Arsenal they could make a move for Henry before the transfer window closes on September 2.
