Celtic will be in Pot 2 of today’s Europa League draw setting up the prospect of being drawn with Asenal and a return to Celtic Park for Kieran Tierney.
Last night’s 4-1 win over AIK confirmed Celtic’s place in the group phase with Neil Lennon’s side the third highest ranked team in Pot 2.
As well as Arsenal Pot 1 includes Manchester United, Roma, Lazio, Porto and Sevilla.
Pots 2 and 3 seem fairly similar in terms of quality, Celtic will definitely avoid PSV Eindhoven, Gent (including Mikael Lustig), Eintract Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach but Pot 3 contains St Etienne, Espanyol Feyenoord and Rosenborg.
The lowest ranked clubs include AZ of Holland, Trabzonspor of Turkey and Cluj.
Celtic’s old familiar group would be Manchester United, Rosenborg and Cluj, last season Celtic were drawn alongside the RB clubs of Salzburg and Leipzig while this season there is the prospect of the Group of Wolves featuring Wolfsburg (Germany), Wolverhampton Wanderers (England) and Wolfsberger of Austria.
The draw begins at 12 noon Celtic Park Time.
Pots are now completed for the Europa League group stage draw, which is due to take place tomorrow at midday.
Dudelange, Ferencvaros, Gent, Ludogorets, Frankfurt, Rangers, Wolves and Vitoria de Guimaraes are the last teams to qualify.
