Awesome! Watch the cheeky goal that Irish kid Jonathan Afolabi scored against Morton

Jonathan Afolabi scored with an outrageous back-heeler in his first competitive outing for Celtic.

The Irish u-19 internationalist joined the hoops last month after leaving Southampton and made his debut in the Reserve Cup match against Morton at Lennoxtown.

Celtic were trailing 1-0 when Armstrong Oko Flex brought the ball in from the corner flag with Afolabi the obvious pass. With his back to goal and a defender and goalkeeper to beat the former Southampton forward casually back-heeled the ball into the net from eight yards out.

Oko Flex extended Celtic’s lead from the penalty spot before half time with Cameron Harper putting the hoops 3-1 in front during the second half.

Morton pulled a goal back from the penalty spot but with 88 minutes on the clock substitute Karamoko Dembele netted after Afolabi had worked the ball into the goalmouth from the corner flag.

On Tuesday Celtic’s reserve side take on Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill in the Jock Stein Freindship Trophy.
