Kirk Broadfoot could be kicking off a chain of events that clears the way for Greg Taylor to complete his move to Celtic.

The former Scotland defender has had his Killie contract terminated with the Ayrshire side the most active in Scotland on transfer deadline day.

The Daily Record reports:

Former Scotland defender Kirk Broadfoot is set to leave Kilmarnock. The 35-year-old asked last week to get his Rugby Park deal terminated. Killie chief Billy Bowie has now agreed to that request, freeing up Broadfoot to sign for another club.

Jack Hendry has been linked to Kilmarnock as part of a complex deal led by Taylor but it seems that the former Dundee defender is reluctant to move to Rugby Park.

With Broadfoot out the club and Hendry holding back Kilmarnock are looking at other options to join Stuart Findlay, Alex Bruce and recent signing Dario Del Fabro who made his debut away to St Johnstone on Saturday

Celtic, Kilmarnock and Taylor reached a broad agreement on Saturday for the transfer to progress but the inclusion of Hendry and Calvin Miller created complications. The player is keen to complete the move but that is dependent on Kilmarnock bringing in the players Angelo Alessio needs to reshape his squad.

Taylor could now be involved in a straight cash deal to Celtic with Kilmarnock reported to be close to signing Graham Dorrans who is negotiating a pay off from Ibrox.
