Chris Sutton has broken one of the media taboos by reacting to pictures of Jordan Jones leaving Ibrox on crutches.

Since signing a pre-contract agreement in January to move to Ibrox the winger has been playing to the gallery with his social media posts.

On the park he has achieved little. Against Legia Warsaw on Thursday he started on the bench, for today’s derby clash he was again left among the substitutes until the 70th minute when he replaced Joe Aribo with the home side desperate for an equaliser.

Three minutes into stoppage time Johnny Hayes added to Odsonne Edouard’s first half strike but there was worse to follow for Jones as he launched a brutal attack on Moritz Bauer in the sixth minute of added time.

Bobby Madden instantly went for a red card, Jones was given no sympathy from Steven Gerrard after the match. As he limped to his car in crutches he has a two match domestic suspension to face with his place in the Northern Ireland squad in doubt due to the injury he collected crocking Bauer.
