Jeremie Frimpong could be in line for his first top team involvement when Celtic play Partick Thistle tonight.

The 18-year-old was signed on transfer deadline day from Manchester City and took part in first team training yesterday ahead of the Betfred Cup tie.

Frimpong was signed alongside Lee O’Connor and Jonathan Alofabi but while they started yesterday’s Reserve Cup match against Morton the Dutchman was left out of that match.

After three seasons at Manchester City Frimpong joined Celtic in a deal that is believed to involved a buy back clause and also give the English champions a significant cut in any future transfer fee. In return Celtic have brought in a highly versatile defender who has had three years of development at the Etihad Academy.

At yesterday’s media conference Neil Lennon confirmed that Moritz Bauer would miss the game through injury and name-checked Boli Bolingoli in a list of five players that needed a break from playing in every match.
