Jack Hendry is a transfer target for four Portuguese clubs according to a report originating in the Sunday People.

The defender hasn’t played a single minute of top team football since Neil Lennon took charge in February and was completely overlooked as Celtic made a number of defensive changes in the summer.

Celtic paid Dundee more than £1m for Hendry in January 2018 but with s contract running until June 2022 shifting his wage rather than recouping a transfer fee will be the priority.

Picking up on the report The Sun reveals:

Hendry is now a target for clubs in Portugal with the transfer window open until September 22. The Sunday People report that Hendry has attracted interest from Santa Clara, Tondela, Vitoria Guimaraes and second tier side Farense.

The January 2018 transfer window proved to be very expensive for Celtic with Charly Musonda’s 18 month loan deal cut short and Marvin Compper’s deal cut short in the summer before he moved to Duisburg.

Scott Bain was the only success of that transfer window with Hendry now likely to move on in January after deciding against a move to Kilmarnock as part of the Greg Taylor deal on deadline day.
