Steven Gerrard refused to speak live on air to Sky Sports after watching his side lose 2-0 to Celtic at Ibrox.

The home side went into the match as strong favourites on the back of a 100% domestic record, reaching the Europa League group phase and some outstanding early work in the transfer market.

After 90 minutes watching a makeshift Celtic dominate his side Gerrard refused to speak to Sky Sports in their post match coverage.

Christopher Jullien and Neil Lennon were happy to fulfil their media duties but Gerrard was nowhere to be seen and unable even to push out Gary McAllister to face the cameras.

Pre-match Gerrard was happy to speak to Sky Sports, explaining the decision to use Jermain Defoe ahead of Alfredo Morelos in an attempt to get a repeat of the May dead rubber between the two clubs.

Having lost to Brendan Rodgers and now Lennon the pressure os on Gerrard with his profile fading fast in England where some have tipped him as Jurgen Klopp’s successor at Liverpool.

In his long distinguished playing career Gerrard never once won a league title.
