The club from Ibrox has reacted to news that their official travel partner, Thomas Cook, has ceased trading.

Over 170 years of unsurpassed travel dignity came to a halt this morning with the news that the travel firm had failed to get further funding with total debts believed to be over £1bn.

Steven Gerrard’s side have used Thomas Cook for their travel arrangements this season but with a week to go before the head to Switzerland to face Young Boys they will have to make alternative arrangements.

Responding to the breaking news their favourite newspaper reported:

A club spokesperson told Record Sport: “We are of course analysing the consequences and any actions that may be necessary will be taken. We will make a further announcement when we have further details.”

Following two convictions for the racist actions of their supporters the club from Ibrox refused to accept tickets for next week’s match in Switzerland.

Thomas Cook were taking bookings from fans for the matches away to Porto and Feyenoord but those supporters that booked up will have to make alternative arrangements as they await a refund on their travel packages.

It seems inevitable that liquidation will quickly follow on from administration for the travel firm with little in the way of assets.
