Scott Sinclair’s weekend video hasn’t answered any of the questions being raised about his demise from the Celtic first team squad.

At international time Lennoxtown becomes a ghost town but on his own the winger can be seen going through his work-outs without a single team-mate in sight. Whether he has been ordered to train or has volunteered for extra work remains unclear.

It’s impossible to get away from his one year contract extension, activated by Celtic at the end of last season is a major factor in his demotion.

The high quality performances may have tailed off since his opening season but finding a wide player who is knocking in close to 20 goals a season is something that most managers dream of discovering.

Celtic don’t appear to be missing Sinclair or his goals, this season has started much better than last season but there’s something not quite right about one of, if not the, top earning players failing to make the match-day squad of 18 players.

Neither party is likely to say anything out of turn, they know how contracts operate but it looks highly unlikely that Sinclair is going to work his way past half a dozen contenders back into the Celtic side with the only certainty being that he will be playing elsewhere this time next year.
