Boli Bolingoli will miss Celtic’s ‘next few games’ after being injured against Rennes.

The defender was replaced in the 70th minute by Jonny Hayes as Celtic worked their way to a 1-1 draw with the French Cup winners.

Bolingoli has yet to play in a losing Celtic side but could have a tough task on his hands to get back into the side with Hayes and Greg Taylor ready to step in for Sunday’s home match with Kilmarnock.

BBC Scotland reported Neil Lennon saying:

Meanwhile, Lennon confirmed Boli Bolingoli is a “doubt for the next few games” after going off with an adductor strain. “We didn’t want to take too many chances with him,” he said. “I don’t think it’s too serious but it’s not like him to come off.”

Hayes put in a performance that could best be described as tigerish as he ensured that Celtic maintained the point that they earned from Ryan Christie’s second half penalty.

With Partick Thistle and Hibs following the visit from Kilmarnock Lennon’s squad face a demanding week as they look to build momentum on an impressive start to the season.

Taylor hasn’t made the bench in the two matches since his deadline day transfer from Kilmarnock but is now in contention to make his debut against his former club.
