Chris Sutton watched start off on fire at Hamilton- then count down the five minutes of stoppage time to claim full points to maintain their 100% SPFL record.

James Forrest scored the only goal of the game in the third minute when he raced onto a low cross from new boy Mo Elyounoussi.

Celtic enjoyed massive territorial advantage in the first half hour but the amount of bodies in the Hamilton defence ensured that there was no further scoring.

It was only in the last 20 minutes that Hamilton put Celtic under any pressure but Fraser Forster was relatively untroubled as he made his 200th appearance for the club.

Tom Rogic, Vakoun Bayo and Jonny Hayes were brought on in the last quarter of the match with Elyounoussi, Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie making way.

Neil Lennon will want to assess the second half knocks that Kris Ajer and Christopher Jullien suffered during the second half.

On Thursday Celtic switch their attention to the Europa League with a trip to France to take on Rennes while Cluj host Lazio.
