Don Robertson will referee Saturday’s match between Hamilton and Celtic- the third time that he has been put in charge of the fixture in 13 months.

So far this season 14 different referees have been in charge of matches in the Premiership but having taken charge of two of the three Celtic v Hamilton matches last season Robertson will again be the man in the middle this weekend.

Last August he was in charge for the Celtic Park clash that was settled by a goal from Dedryck Boyata, in November Celtic went to New Douglas Park where goals from Ryan Christie, Leigh Griffiths and an own goal ensured a 3-0 away win.

Robertson is best remembered for the incredible penalty kick that he awarded against Erik Sviatchenko during Celtic’s 1-1 draw with Ross County in April 2017.

Since then he has been promoted onto the elite FIFA list, at the weekend he refereed Turkey’s 1-0 win over Andora.

Willie Collum will be back in action at Ibrox on Saturday for the visit of Livingston, his first match at that venue since a club statement claimed that he had underlying issues.
