Kris Commons expects Odsonne Edouard to smash Celtic’s transfer record- claiming that a £25m fee would be a snip.

Last summer Lyon splashed out £20m for Moussa Dembele with Arsenal topping that by £5m to sign Kieran Tierney last month.

Edouard played alongside both men and is now firmly established as Celtic’s first chioice striker and biggest transfer asset.

Dembele combined his goals in Scotland with strikes in Europe and for the French u-21 side with Edouard starting out on that path during the recent international break.

A transfer is inevitable but Celtic fans are confident that the young striker will see out this season and cross their fingers that he will be back for more next term.

Getting ‘a turn’ out of players and selling them on for a profit is the Celtic business model with Commons telling The Sun that Edouard will be the biggest deal of them all:

His reputation is growing all the time, not just in Scotland, but at international level and across the world. He’s creating a lot of noise and there will  be clubs watching him on a regular basis but when Celtic have spent £9million to get him from PSG, you’d be looking at double that to get him now.

Kieran Tierney went for £25m, but paying that for Odsonne would be a snip for clubs. He ticks every single box and he’s only going to get better.

Edouard is under contract with Celtic until 2022.
