Jeremie Frimpong makes his Celtic debut in the Betfred Cup tie against Partick Thistle with Neil Lennon making EIGHT changes to the side that beat Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The teenage Dutchman was signed from Manchester City on deadline day and is listed at right-back with Hatem Abd Elhamed moving in to partner Kris Ajer in central defence. Callum McGregor captains the side with Jack Hendry and Scott Sinclair on the bench.

After six successive wins in the SPFL the hoops will be looking to ensure a trouble free route into the semi-finals of the competition with the draw being staged later tonight at Livingston.

In the last round, on the back of losing to Cluj, Celtic required extra-time to see off Dunfermline with a late goal from James Forrest preventing the match going to a penalty shoot out.

While Celtic were seeing off the Pars, Thistle beat Ross County in extra-time to reach the last eight but a win in the Championship eluded Gary Caldwell who was sacked last week.

Ian McCall is back in charge of Thistle for the second time with the clear brief of getting the club off bottom place in the league with the prospect of kicking on for a place in the play-offs not out of the question.

CELTIC: Gordon; Frimpong, Elhamed, Ajer, Hayes: Ntcham, McGregor; Morgan, Rogic, Elyounoussi; Bayo

SUBS: Forster, Hendry, Bolingoli, Brown, Sinclair, Forrest, Edouard
