Neil Lennon could go with an entirely new front three against Partick Thistle tonight.

The Betfred Cup tie comes in the middle of a seven day spell that sees the champions also take on Kilmarnock and Hibs.

Lennon’s side have already played in 16 competitive matches this season with that schedule topped up by international commitments for half of his squad.

Discussing his options for tonight the Celtic boss told the Daily Record:

Austrian right-back Moritz Bauer is set to miss out with ankle damage and Ryan Christie could also be allowed to rest a painful neck. Mikey Johnston is still not ready to return to action and Leigh Griffiths is also still recovering from a thigh injury.

But Lennon – who will play Craig Gordon in goal – added: “The likes of Vakoun Bayo will come in. Tom Rogic, Lewis Morgan and Jonny Hayes will also come into our thinking.”

Against Kilmarnock Odsonne Edouard led the line supported by Ryan Christie, Olivier Ntcham and James Forrest.

Ntcham could drop back into a more central midfield role as Celtic look to make their way into the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup, a trophy that they have won four times in the last five years.

Thistle will be boosted by the appointment of Ian McCall as manager but haven’t won any of their six Championship matches which resulted in the sacking of Gary Caldwell.
