Lennon set for striker boost

Leigh Griffiths looks like giving Neil Lennon a timely boost by being available for Thursday’s Europa League tie with Cluj.

The striker has missed Celtic’s last four matches due to a thigh strain then a virus but appeared to be in good form when he attended the ‘Final Farewell’ for Still Game at The Hydro.

With Vakoun Bayo suspended for Thursday’s match the return of Griffiths gives Neil Lennon an additional striking option as Celtic look to build on the point picked up away to Rennes.

The Romanian champions come to Glasgow on the back of a 2-1 home win against Lazio as they look to repeat their Champions League win over the hoops.

With Christopher Jullien and Boli Bolingoli now established in defence Celtic will have a very different look to the side that lost 4-3 to crash out of the Champions League qualifiers.

Griffiths scored in Celtic’s opening SPFL wins over St Johnstone and Motherwell but hasn’t played any first team football since the 3-1 win over Hearts at the end of August.
