Tony Watt scored twice as CSKA Sofia won 3-0 away to Lokomotiv GO in the Bulgarian Cup and picked up the Man of the Match award.

The former Celtic striker joined the Bulgarian outfit during the summer and seems to be settling in well on and off the park.

Watt’s first goal was a glancing header from a free kick (2 min 45 sec into video clip)

The second was a trademark strong run through the centre of the Lokomotic defence (3 min 40 sec)

It’s almost seven years since Watt scored his famous goal against Barcelona, since finding the net in the Champions League his career has taken him to Belgium and England as well as stints at Hearts and St Johnstone.

At the age of 25 he seems to have found a club where he can settle down and develop his game, picking up on the promise that had Celtic and Liverpool chasing after the teenager breaking through at Airdrie United back in 2010.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
