Celtic have been given an allocation of 9,000 tickets for the Europa League tie away to Lazio on November 7.

That allocation should meet the demand of most fans with any season ticket holder that has been to any of the last 19 European away matches eligible.

Despite their extensive European adventures going back more than 50 years Celtic haven’t played in Rome in an official UEFA match with the November clash the one that most fans want to attend.

Over the last 15 months Celtic have played 13 European ties with the 19 match criteria stretching back to the start of the 2017/18 season which includes the Bayern Munich match which was the last time there was such demand for a game.

Under UEFA rules visiting clubs are entitled to 5% of the ticket allocation but with the Stadio Olympico less than half full for last week’s win over Rennes the Italian side are happy to increase Celtic’s allocation with prices kept to a reasonable £32.

Celtic’s home match with Lazio later this month has sold out.
