Neil Lennon has revealed that Vakoun Bayo needs to have a scan on ‘a knock’ leaving Odsonne Edouard as Celtic’s only fit striker.

Tomorrow’s match against St Mirren would have seemed like the ideal time to give Bayo a starting place but he appears to have picked up an injury during his 30 minute run out at Aberdeen on Saturday.

With Leigh Griffiths still to resume full training Lennon is running out of striking options. Reserve striker Jonathan Afolabi is also out after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty.

Edouard has been virtually an ever present for the last two months while also turning out for the French u-21 side but now looks like starting three matches in seven days with the Betfred Cup semi-final against Hibs coming up at Hampden on Saturday.

Mo Elyounoussi could be forced into playing in a striking role but the injury to Bayo highlights the dependency on Edouard and the need to bring in a new striker in January.
