Celtic will find out later today the outcome of a UEFA Disciplinary procedings following the Europa League match with Cluj.

The use of fireworks attracted the attention of UEFA with the club in the dock for the second time this season.

UEFA’s website states:

Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Europa League group stage match between Celtic FC and CFR 1907 Cluj (2-0), played on 3 October in Scotland

Charges against Celtic FC:
– Setting off of fireworks – Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will deal with this case at its meeting on 17 October.

With Celtic’s next match, at home to Lazio, just seven days away a partial closure of the ground seems highly unlikely. Previous incidents involving fireworks have resulted in fines with that type of punishment again being likely.

UEFA brought forward a charge of racist actions against Lazio for the actions of supporters during their home match with Rennes with a partial closure applied to the Stadio Olympico for the match with Celtic next month.

Celtic will be able to select Vakoun Bayo after he served a one match UEFA suspension with Ryan Christie also available despite serving a domestic suspension against Ross County and Aberdeen.
