Charlie Nicholas believes that Odsonne Edouard lacks the ‘street-fighting’ skills of Alfredo Morelos. It’s unlikely that the player or the coaching staff at Celtic or French international side will be paying too much attention to the Sky Sports pundit.

What the Frenchman lacks in red and yellow cards he more than makes up for in medals and goals with two scored in cup final appearances while he has scored five times in Glasgow derbies including two at Ibrox.

Nicholas has tipped Celtic to beat Lazio 2-1 tomorrow night but resorted to his usual form with The Sun picking up on his comments in The Express.

As for the Edouard/Morelos debate, the Frenchman is a better all-round player than the Colombian. What Morelos has got is that bit of streetfighter in him that Edouard lacks in his game.

Edouard is far more important to Celtic than Morelos is to Rangers, though, as Jermain Defoe’s goals will tell you but they are two terrific marksmen and Scottish football should enjoy them while they still can.

Earlier this season Nicholas criticised the way that Edouard celebrated scoring goals, in January he tipped the arrival of Steve Davis and Jermain Defoe to take the SPFL title to Ibrox.

Celtic ended up winning the league by nine points despite the disruption of changing manager in February, Edouard completed the Treble Treble by scoring twice in the Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts at Hampden.
