Odsonne Edouard took a back seat last night as Celtic beat Cluj 2-1 but the striker didn’t mind in the slightest.
After bagging five goals in two matches for his u-21 side the French striker got the big billing from Lazio as they prepared to face Celtic in a critical Europa League tie.
On an individual basis things didn’t quite work out for Edouard but as every Celtic supporter knows he is much more than ‘just a goal scorer’.
It was the former Paris Saint Germain striker who laid the ball into the path of Ryan Christie to score the equaliser- suddenly it was game on with Celtic upping the pressure on their Serie A opponents.
Any striker would have been proud of Christopher Jullien’s winning goal- Edouard enjoyed it so much that he shared the celebrations on his Instagram account.
As he enjoyed the post-match scenes there’s little doubt that Edouard knows that his game is developing in the best possible environment with lots more glory possible over the remainder of the season.
