After just two first team appearances Jeremie Frimpong has established himself as a fans’ favourite. By mid-afternoon #frimpong was trending on Glasgow twitter.
The teenager was signed from Manchester City on deadline day and has helped his new club to the impressive stats of 11 for and 0 against in his matches against Partick Thistle and Ross County.
Neil Lennon put Frimpong in ahead of Moritz Bauer and Hatem Abd Elhamed to face the Highlanders and will now face a big decision over who starts against Lazio on Thursday night.
Frimpong looks old beyond his years with a sprinters’ burst of pace to compliment his solid defensive skills.
Bauer and Elhamed have shared the right-back spot so far this season but it now appears that the teenager is the man in possession with Celtic fans on social media quick to sing his praises.
With a 6-0 win over Ross County Celtic returned to top spot in the SPFL but just as importantly worked the 2-0 defeat at Livingston out of their system.
Next weekend the hoops go to Aberdeen, another goal burst will be welcome with the hoops then facing three consecutive home matches to build momentum in the SPFL title race.
