Glenn Hoddle found himself outnumbered when he claimed that Anfield had a better atmosphere on European nights than Celtic Park.

Chris Sutton was able to take a back seat as Robbie Savage threw the question to a panel of experts on The Early Kick Off on BT Sport this morning.

Hoddle was in no doubt that Anfield was the winner but former Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell put him right with telly presenter Jeff Brazier agreeing. Hoddle never had the opportunity to respond but after Thursday’s thriller against Lazio there is little doubt that Celtic Park is one of Europe’s greatest stadiums.

Back in 2003 Celtic and Liverpool served up two epic UEFA Cup ties with the hoops going through at Anfield thanks to goals from Alan Thompson and John Hartson after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Glasgow.

Earlier on Savage had asked who was the best striker between Morelos and Edouard. True to form Sutton provided the obvious answer reminding the Welshman that the Ibrox star has more red cards against Celtic than goals.
