Leigh Griffiths has responded to the latest wave of social media rumours by posting a short video clip from the gym at Lennoxtown.
The striker has been out injured for Celtic’s last six matches prompting a rehash of various stories about his imminent demise. Various tales have been shared, as they have been earlier this year which mostly involve an imminent sacking. So far they have all been proved wrong.
Griffiths made his last first team appearance towards the end of August when he came on as a substitute in the 3-1 home win over Hearts.
A thigh strain has ruled him out of Celtic’s recent fixtures while the call-off’s from Oli McBurnie and Oli Burke from the Scotland squad has highlighted the lack of options available to Steve Clarke. Dundee United’s Lawrence Shankland looks certain to make his international debut against Russia on Thursday.
After missing the second half of last season Griffiths as scored three goals so far this season.
