Steven Gerrard chucked his players under the bus, again, after watching the 1-1 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle.

Any sort of win against a side that hasn’t won at home in the SPFL since March would have taken the Ibrox side above Celtic but when the pressure is on Gerrard’s side tend to wilt.

Hearts took an early lead through Ryotaro Meshino and although the visitors levelled through Alfredo Morelos they never looked like taking the points.

As he was asked the opening question about cutting a disappointed figure on the side-lines Gerrard grinned widely at Stuart Lovell of BT Sport.

Gerrard was able to throw on Ryan Kent and Jermain Defoe as substitutes but neither was able to make any impact on the match as Hearts deservedly took a point.

On Thursday the Ibrox boss has to take his side to face Porto in the Europa League with pressure building to drop captain James Tavernier after another error strewn performance proved costly.
