Leigh Griffiths’ absence from the Celtic side looks like extending into November.
The striker last played in the 3-1 win over Hearts on August 25 and has been out of the matchday squad since missing the opening Europa League group match away to Rennes.
Today SNS has published a gallery of 62 images from training at Lennoxtown ahead of the match against Lazio with no sign of Griffiths taking part. On close inspection Jack Hendry and Eboue Kouassi can be spotted but there is no sign of the former Hibs striker.
A thigh strain was the reason for Griffiths missing out on the Rennes match but more than a month later it appears that he is being restricted to gym work rather than being out on the pitch with his team-mates.
Vakoun Bayo is the only back-up striking option to Odsonne Edouard. Following Thursday’s match with Lazio Neil Lennon will have to chose his side carefully with matches coming up against Aberdeen (Sunday), St Mirren (Wednesday) and Hibs on Saturday November 2.
Griffiths scored three times in the early weeks of the season with his last goal coming away to Motherwell on August 10.
