Under the ‘disco lights’ with three imposing stands that can no longer be considered as new Celtic Park will be at it’s finest tonight for the Europa League tie with Cluj.
The atmosphere is renowned throughout the world of football with many of the biggest names in the game, from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Leo Messi through Paolo Maldini listing a game at Celtic Park as one of the best experiences in their career.

It can sometimes be easy to forget the pre-1995 appearance of Celtic Park, it wasn’t as grand as the current stadium but it still had a magic, identity and atmosphere that couldn’t be matched.
An ugly set of seats was added to The Jungle in 1993 as the failing Kelly/White regime prepared for the Taylor report but with three sweeping terraces Celtic Park was a classical old style football ground where fans could roam freely to discover their facourite spots.
Comfortably holding a Safety Certificate for 60,000 before the bulldozers moved in it is rumoured that closer to 80,000 were inside on that famous day in 1988 when Billy McNeill’s side clinched the Centenary title on route to a double celebration.
