Fraser Forster’s incredible save from Danilo Cataldi has gone viral.

There were plenty of talking points from Celtic’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Lazio in the Europa League.

In stoppage time, with the hoops hanging on to Christopher Jullien’s decisive goal the ball fell perfectly for Cataldi who struck the half volley perfectly. The Lazio man couldn’t have put anything more into his effort as it hared towards the near post to earn the Italian side a point.

Somehow Forster managed to get over to the shot and get enough on his save to push the ball aside before it was cleared for a corner. The stadium held its breath then erupted in cheers.

Television viewers waited for a reply to confirm what they had witnessed, when they got to have a second look it became more and more improbable. How did he manage to react and block that shot?

BT Sport quickly shared the clip online, in next to no time 200 comments had been added.

After the match Forster was his usual down to earth self. There was no boasting or look-at-me from the quietly spoken Geordie who genuinely seemed a little embarrassed to be in the spotlight.

Seven years ago against Barcelona he probably produced his most complete performance, if he ever betters his save last night from Cataldi it will be something well worth seeing.
