Ilir Meta has shared his joy at Celtic signing Rocco Vata.
The teenager has officially joined the club’s Academy set up that involves intensive training while schooling at St Ninian’s, Kirkintilloch.
Meta, the President of Albania, has kept a close eye on Celtic since meeting up with some fans in Sarajevo and has been quick to share his delight across social media.

Rocco’s dad was something of a rebel and trailblazer when in 1991 he defected from Albania during an international match in France. Soon after Liam Brady took a look at the defender during a pre-season tour of Ireland and offered Vata a contract.
Although never a regular he made 45 appearances before moving on to Apollon Limassol in 1996.
Rocco has earned some very promising reviews and will now come under the spotlight as he makes his way through the ranks hoping to follow his dad into a Celtic shirt- then facing the international dilemma of having to choose between Scotland and Albania.
