Ryan Christie has posted on Instagram a week after closing down his Twitter account following abuse on the back of his red card against Livingston.
The midfielder turned in an impressive 90 minutes for Scotland in the 6-0 win over San Marino at Hampden and shared an image from that match.
It seems that the majority of abuse on Twitter came from accounts with little connection to Celtic supporters but rather than carry out some Colleen Rooney type detective work Christie opted to close his Twitter account.
After adding two Scotland caps to his tally, and being denied a goal by John McGinn’s bootlace, Christie will have to sit out Saturday’s Celtic match against Ross County due to suspension.
He will be eligible to play against Lazio next Thursday in the Europa League group match before completing his two match suspension by sitting out the trip to Aberdeen.
